About

It all began in August 2010. (Well, technically, it ALL began 9 months before August 11th, 1988. But I digress.)

I slept blissfully through an upper endoscopy to confirm my Celiac diagnosis, hopped in the car with my chauffeur (mom), and was escorted straight to the nearest Whole Foods. 'I've got this', I thought. No bread, not a big deal, right? Wrong. I made it less than 3 aisles before bursting into tears. Not a good look for a 21 year old. I was banished to the car, and my mom proceeded to overflow a cart with gluten free food (most of which ended up sucking horribly).

And that, my friends, is how this little journey started.

Today, I run two gluten free blogs - the first, I think you've found. I've always dreamed of starting a food blog, but it wasn't until that whole Celiac thing that I had a niche. Hello, silver lining! Gluten Free Blondie was born, and continues to be a place where I share delicious recipes, glimpses into the life of a 20-something in NYC, and other gluten free tidbits.

The second, you can find here. When I Went Gluten Free is a compilation of gifs + really ridiculous scenarios that those of us who are following a gluten free diet tend to find ourselves in.

The gluten free community is overwhelmingly welcoming and informative, but sometimes you just need to have a laugh at gluten's expense. This lighthearted approach is how I personally, have coped with Celiac, and I can only hope it will help others as well.

If you made it this far - kudos! Go beast a gluten free brownie (or blondie?).
